The last three months we had
Dear Reader
…an intern called Alex Hort-Francis, who I became involved with when UEA mentoring service requested I mentor him.
To obtain the intern:
- We had him set himself up as self employed, a freelancer.
- And he obtained the relevant insurances, from Arthur J Gallagher (brokers),
- We drew up a contract with our HR people (Human Capital over in Kings Lynn).
To work with the intern.
- I took timeout to mentor him. Almost 2 full days per week.
- I arranged for him to visit Microsoft’s UK HQ (Building 3) courtesy of Inty Ltd’s Ascend basecamp.
- When I wanted to code in silence … Alex wanted to draw diagrams in Figma. Some really good results, here.
- If anyone wants to work with him, an able bodied soul he is. His LinkedIn profile is here.
After working with him.
- He decided to study more … Coding
- I respect that … He must know discipline.
- Code is King.
Dare I say it, he is a friend indeed, as opposed to one in need.
He has helped me more than I can say.
All for now, and one for all.
